Support after a workplace injury

WorkCover

A workplace injury can affect more than just your physical health. Being away from work, managing a claim, dealing with pain, and worrying about the future can all impact your mental wellbeing.

Our psychologists support people recovering from workplace injuries, whether you are experiencing:

  • A psychological injury caused by work, such as stress, anxiety, or trauma
  • Emotional difficulties following a physical workplace injury
  • Challenges adjusting to changes in your health, lifestyle, or ability to work

We provide a safe, supportive space to help you recover, develop practical coping strategies, and work towards a positive return to work when you are ready.

Support through a work-related injury

A workplace injury can affect far more than your body. The stress of being off work, dealing with a claim, managing pain, and worrying about the future can take a real toll on your mental health and everyday life.

Some people come to us with a psychological injury such as work-related stress, anxiety, or trauma. Others are managing the emotional weight of a physical injury and the long road of recovery. Both are valid reasons to reach out, and both are supported through WorkCover.

Our psychologists provide a calm, judgement-free space to work through what's happened. We support your recovery, help you build practical coping strategies, and where it's helpful, coordinate with your GP, case manager, and employer to support a safe and sustainable return to work.

Your journey

How WorkCover sessions work

Navigating a claim can feel confusing on top of everything else. Here's how we make getting started as simple as possible.

  1. 1

    Get in touch

Reach out by phone or online with your claim details. We'll answer your questions and explain what happens next, no pressure to commit.

  2. 2

    Insurer approval

We liaise with your case manager and insurer to arrange approval for treatment, so you can focus on getting well rather than paperwork.

  3. 3

    Your first session

We take time to understand your injury, your work, and how things have been affecting you, then shape a plan around your recovery goals.

  4. 4

    Recovery & return to work

We work at your pace and, where helpful, coordinate with your GP and employer to support a safe, sustainable return to work.
